Aagrah Restaurant Leeds City  has been named the Best Restaurant in the North East 2015 at the prestigious British Curry Awards.

Aagrah Sheffield – Best South Asian Restaurant 2015

For the second year in a row, Aagrah Restaurant, Sheffield (Leopold Square) was awarded the Best South Asian Restaurant (Yorkshire/Humber) 2015 at the 5th Asian Curry Awards (ACA) prestigious ceremony held at the Hilton, Park Lane, London.

Aagrah Leeds City won the coveted award for the Best Indian Establishment at the Food Awards England & Wales, held in Manchester on the 17th Nov 2014.

Mohammed Aslam Awarded with a Special Recognition Accolade at the British Curry Awards 2013

Prime Minster David Cameron honoured Mohammed Aslam MBE with a Special Recognition accolade at The British Curry Awards 2013. The prestigious award acknowledges his significant contributions to services to industry. The 2000 strong audience gave a rapturous standing ovation to Mohammed Aslam in appreciation of his commitment and dedication.

Aagrah Leeds City Named “Best Restaurant in North East” at British Curry Awards 2012

Aagrah Leeds City were announced as winner of the “Best Restaurant in the North East” at the glittering British Curry Awards 2012, which were held in London.

Aagrah Shipley, Aagrah Garforth & Aagrah Sheffield were all finalists in their regional categories.

Curry Capital 2011 & 2012 – Bradford announced winner

Aagrah Shipley were one of 4 restaurants who successfully represented Bradford in the Curry Capital of Britain bid in 2011 & 2012.  It beat off competition from strong contenders Glasgow, Leicester, Birmingham & Manchester.

Mohammed Aslam Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award at the ABDN Dinner 2010

Mohammed Aslam MBE Managing Director and Executive Chef of the Aagrah Group of Restaurants was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ABDN’s 12th Annual Dinner, which was held at the Royal Armouries on the 1st April 2010.

The award is in recognition of his services to the hospitality industry and the community, and recognises more than 30 years of dedictaed service.

Mohammed Aslam Awarded an MBE

Mohammed Aslam, Managing Director and Executive Chef of the Aagrah Group of Restaurant, has been honoured with an MBE in recognition for his services to the hospitality industry in the Queen’s New Year’s honours list January 2010.

The British Curry Awards 2009

Aagrah Garforth were the proud winners of the Best Restaurant in the North East.  The British Curry Awards are widely recognised as the Oscars of Britain’s spice restaurant industry.  This year the ceremony, hosted by Sir Trevor McDonald was attended by more people than ever, with over 1600 guests, including restaurateurs, politicians, guests and celebrities coming from all over the world.

Aagrah Sheffield scoops Best newcomer in the UK 2008.  Aagrah Shipley make it as finalists in the Best in the North East category.

We are also recognised for our charitable contributions. Our Founder and Chairman, Mohammed Sabir, was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours List 2006 in recognition of his efforts in raising funds for good causes for over 25 years.
