Mohammed Aslam Awarded an MBE  

Mohammed Aslam, Managing Director and Executive Chef of the Aagrah Group of Restaurant, has been honoured with an MBE in recognition for his services to the hospitality industry in the Queen’s New Year’s honours list January 2010.

Aagrah Garforth were the proud winners of the Best Restaurant in the North East.  The British Curry Awards are widely recognised as the Oscars of Britain’s spice restaurant industry.  This year the ceremony, hosted by Sir Trevor McDonald was attended by more people than ever, with over 1600 guests, including restaurateurs, politicians, guests and celebrities coming from all over the world.

Aagrah Shipley wins the Best International Restaurant of the Year 2008 in the first annual Yorkshire Life Food & Wine awards.  This award was for best restaurant specialising in a national or regional cuisine (excluding British).

Aagrah Sheffield scoops Best newcomer in the UK 2008.  Aagrah Shipley make it as finalists in the Best in the North East category.

We are also recognised for our charitable contributions. Our Founder and Chairman, Mohammed Sabir, was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours List 2006 in recognition of his efforts in raising funds for good causes for over 25 years.
